10:00 AM: Gates open for our full-season campers. Get the best spot and make yourself at home in the heart of the festival vibes.

4:00 PM – Midnight: The festival vibes come alive early! Festival grounds open to everyone with live music starting at 4 PM, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening filled with beats, melodies, and dancing under the stars. Why wait for Friday when the party starts now?

Day 1 (Friday, June 7th): Official festival magic from 8:00 AM to Midnight. Don’t miss the opening ceremony that officially launches a weekend filled with non-stop music, arts, and entertainment.

The adventure continues:

Day 2 (Saturday): Full throttle from 8:00 AM to Midnight. Dive into a day packed with the Festival Parade, Fire Show, Bush Dance, and an eclectic mix of music to satisfy all tastes.
Day 3 (Sunday): Start your day at 8:00 AM with a bush poets breakfast, then enjoy a day of amazing performances, wrapping up with a heartfelt closing ceremony around 6:00 PM.
Day 4 (Monday) for Full Season Campers: Reflect, relax, and pack up at your own pace, basking in the afterglow of an epic weekend.

The 33rd annual Townsville Folk Festival, set to take place at the scenic Foots Hill Station, has unveiled its highly anticipated lineup.

This year’s festival is a showcase of diverse musical talent and interactive sessions crafted to offer an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.

The festival is poised to captivate audiences with its eclectic mix, featuring a rich array of musical genres, including folk, blues, rock, reggae, and world music.

The critically acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter William Crighton leads the lineup, celebrated for his emotive storytelling and commanding stage presence. He will be joined by a host of festival favourites, including the Hillbilly Goats, Jesse Morris and the Shakedown, Late November, Salt and Steel, Karl S. Williams Band, and Lucy Gallant, among others, highlighting the festival’s commitment to artistic diversity and showcasing a blend of local, regional, and emerging talents.

Innovation continues to be a hallmark of the festival, with new additions designed to enrich the attendee experience. Noteworthy are the International Supper Club with Andrew Clermont and Friends, the engaging ‘On the Couch’ series sessions featuring discussions with artists like the Hillbilly Goats and Late November, and the introduction of Arov’s Stage, offering performances by David Flower and Friends. These elements promise a weekend filled with immersive musical experiences, meaningful interactions, and workshops aimed at fostering creativity and community engagement.

The festival’s future is looking brighter than ever, thanks to a three-year funding package from the Townsville City Council, recognizing the festival’s significant contribution to the region’s cultural landscape.

“This funding from the Townsville City Council is a game-changer. It validates the significance of our festival in enhancing the community’s cultural landscape and ensures our vision for the festival’s expansion and sustainability,” Bec Alferez, Artistic Director.

This year’s edition is a testament to the festival’s musical heritage and a reflection of its resilience, having overcome the adversities of natural disasters and global challenges. It is a testament to the volunteers’ dedication and the community’s solid support.
