Under the stars just a short drive from Townsville
Forged in a backyard studio somewhere in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne comes Playlunch: the house-band at the world’s rowdiest house-party.
It’s a goon-bag floating in an inflatable pool, as empty Melbourne Bitter bottles and half eaten fairy bread decompose upon the lawn. It’s James Brown and a black-current Quelch. It’s “Off The Wall” at the Blue Light Disco.
“There are kids going into uni this year who spent Year 11 and 12 locked inside,” says bandleader and producer Liam Bell “this is for them.”
Healing Australia one banger at a time, there’s only one name in the game of Bogan-Funk… this is “Playlunch.”
